Angela Mortimer's International Women's Day Charity Lunch

For this year's International Women's Day event on 7th March, the Angela Mortimer Group decided to support Kid's Company as its chosen charity. Set up in 1996 by Camila Batmanghelidjh CBE, the charity employs more than 550 staff with an additional 11,000 volunteers. Kid's Company manages to reach 36,000 children a year with therapeutic care - a huge achievement and one that deserves a great deal of recognition and praise.

International Women's Day is a day that both celebrates and encourages women’s social, political and economical achievements, and the Angela Mortimer Group is proud to play a part in the event - particularly when it involves raising money for charities with extremely worthwhile and philanthropical causes. Last year the company's chosen charity was Save the Children; £3,250 was raised. This year we want to beat it!

Three more inspiring women are attending the event;
Lucy Choi of Lucy Choi London, Andrea Hartley, Founder of Skating Panda and Dr Thelma Bates OBE, Consultant Clinical Oncologist and Founder of a number of Hospices. All are shining examples of why Angela Mortimer decides to participate so wholeheartedly in International Women's Day.

Some of the comments from last year's event:

  • It was absolutely fantastic and incredibly inspiring. I know that Cheryl and I came away feeling like we could conquer anything! GSR2R
  • It was absolutely fantastic. So much effort had gone into it and the speeches were wonderful: very inspirational indeed. Breast Cancer Care
  • Well done on an amazing event yesterday. I was privileged to share the stage with such amazing women and the audience was so warm and generous that it was a complete pleasure to attend. I was also so impressed by the amazing prizes in the raffle. Angela Mortimer did a fabulous job overall and I think you are all brilliant! Meg Lustman (one of our speakers from last year!)
